Jay-Z might have beat a King but it will take alot to crush the Beatles!

The long awaited Blueprint 3 came with a bang. This being Jay-Z'z 11th studio album and his 11th number 1 album, further placed Jay-Z in the Hall of Fame now beating Elvis Presley for the second most number 1 albums, a title they once shared. Beating the “King of Rock” making him the first black artist to achieve this amazing feet. Blueprint 3 sold 426 000 copies in the first week of sales making this the second highest first week sales for a Hip Hop/Rap album this year afterEminem's "The Relapse". Amazing as this is Jay-Z is, he is still second to The Beatles’ who have had 19 number 1 albums, and with the release of their Remaster collection selling 645 000 in the same week it kinda makes you wonder. Unfortunately because these are old songs they could not be entered in the Billboard chats. Alas this post isn't just some glorified praise of Jay-Z however great a milestone.

With all the hip hop bloggers and the rage on Twitter, The Blueprint 3 has been long awaited album but as a Jay-Z fan I have an overwhelming feeling he somehow held back. The Prelude to Blueprint 3 featured songs like "Brooklyn We Go Hard"; "History" and a host of amazing tracks I was hoping would be on this album. Regardless and because I am fan right now I bumping my head to the album but still have a grave feeling it's going to run its course and I'll be done with it soon. This album feels like a big chunk of gum, the first bite was filled with a burst of flavour but the more I keeping chewing the less I'm enjoying it and I have that feeling I'm going to spit it out. This doesn't have the staying power of the first Blueprint, or the grace of the Black album.

That's not to say you shouldn't get your hands on it, not at all. The Blueprint 3 has some great songs "A Star is Born" where Jay-Z gives a tribute to some of the greatest rap artists in the last decade, "Run This Town" where the recently embarrassing Kanye West shows why we might forgive him soon and "Young Forever" are amazing songs. However after “Off That” with Drake it feels like things have changed. All I'm just saying is that if you're fan, your heart might be broken, but if you're just looking for a club banger get it NOW, either way the Blueprint 3 in looking like a good album!!!
